Designing and building homes where HVAC ducts and air handlers are located inside conditioned spaces can reduce energy use by 15 to 20%, compared to typical HVAC installations. The California Public Utilities Commission in June announced a new residential net-zero energy action plan that calls for all new homes to generate as much energy as they use by 2020. For details see attached press release. Link to press release
